Voice Lessons with Katie Parr
Hi Everyone! My name is Katie Parr. I am a piano teacher, vocal coach, pianist, vocalist, songwriter and recording artist. I have been teaching piano, voice and music writing lessons in Southlake Tx for over 17 years. Teaching is my passion and I'm very blessed to have so many talented students. I hope to touch your life as I share with you the gift of music.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that everyone's voice is unique. I will introduce you to many styles of music, so you can find what makes your voice unique and what style(s) of music your voice is designed to sing. May of my students have goals to write and record their music. I teach a wide variety of methods and incorporate them into your lessons, as they are tailored just for you. I teach a wide variety of vocal methods. Everything from classical training to current and modern methods used with Emmy award winners. My method called "Singing Success" is a practical application of the compilation of methods I have been certified to teach. Below are links to the different methods.

I'm so grateful to have worked with such talented and charismatic musicians! Some of my students have gone on to do some pretty amazing things!
I've had students who have been chosen among many to participate in LA's teen IPOP, DFW Icon, American Idol, The Voice. America's Got Talent and Disney Radio. I also have had students who participate in pageants and have won 1st place for talent in National American Miss and other pageants. Some of my students are now recording artists (Demi Levato, KKay, Rachel Farrow, Evan Kolde & Sira Faris to name a few)
Some of my students perform in local theaters, with local bands and at oprys. As singing and acting go hand in hand. I've been blessed to work with a number of actors/ actresses who have gone on to perform on CBS TV, The Disney Channel and Radio Disney. Last year, my student Sara Faris, was the singing/ acting lead role of "Elle Woods" in Carroll High School's production of Legally Blonde. Watch my student Chloe Perrin on the new CBS TV series "Reckless" every Sunday evening at 8pm central time and the movie "Jurassic World" (in theaters Summer 2015) !!

Performances
I believe it is an important part of vocal development for students to participate in performances so I hosts between 6-9 performances per year. Every year are the following recitals, competitions and performance series:
